The Ever-Changing World of the Covid Pandemic

I think we can all agree that the past 18 months have been incredibly unique, to say the least. With the rise of Covid-19 and how the pandemic has changed lives, cities and the world will never be forgotten in the slightest!

My journey through the strange new “normal” of Covid-19 was an up-and-down adventure. I struggle with mental health and severe anxiety, so when Utah was practically shut down in March 2020, my anxiety skyrocketed. I lived alone at that time and was not attending school. Rather, I was working full-time and living my average daily life. During the first lockdown in Utah, my company sent everyone home to work remotely until further notice. At that point, I had never felt more isolated before.

Thankfully, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work remote, so I packed up and went back home to Washington state to stay in quarantine with my parents. Being with family certainly helped me see past the fear and uncertainty Covid brought. When I came back to Utah, I continued working remote and still am. I have managed the ever-changing guidelines from the pandemic and made my mental health the priority in my life.

While it’s been a strange year, I am glad that the pandemic has brought more awareness to mental health. While we all return to normal life, we need to remember to normalize mental health.
